The story of the Must-have dress
The Spanish clothing designer Sita Murt designed a very beautiful dress back in 2012. One of those that you just have to own, but can't buy - so you have to try to create something similar yourself.
A number of years passed during which I made a few unsuccessful attempts. It took an invitation to a big 50th birthday party before the motivation returned. I had two weeks, so time was tight. New yarn came on the needles, and knitting samples were knitted, drawn and counted, and then on the way to the party I had the last ends sewn in, and the dress fit perfectly, thank God. The dress got a lot of attention and I was encouraged to make a knitting pattern for it.
Because my version is similar to the original, I contacted Sita Murt's daughter, Isabel Esteve, since Sita Murt is no more. I sent her a picture of the dress and asked permission to sell my pattern. She was very excited about my result and was pleased that the dress had received attention in Denmark. Most importantly, she gave me her blessing to sell the recipe.
Enjoy
Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL
Width of the dress : 76 (80) 84 (88) 92cm - Calculated for hip measurements: 84-88 (92-96) 100-104 (108-112) 117-122
Length : 86 (90) 94 (98) 102
Size guide and measurements:
The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL correspond to chest measurements of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95- 100) 100-110 cm. The dress must fit snugly and since the elastic can give way, there is a big difference between the measured width when the dress is lying flat and when it is on. The model in the picture has a chest measurement of 84 cm and is 174 cm tall, but the hip measurement corresponds to a size S, so she wears a size S.
Knitting density : 14 stitches x 28 rows in pearl stitch with Fv B on needles 6 mm = 10 x 10 cm
Guide needles : Circular needle 6 mm (80 or 100 cm), circular needle 4.5 mm (60 mm)
