The skirt measurements and length are calculated for a knee-length skirt, measured flat.

NOTE! The weight of the skirt causes it to lengthen slightly when worn.

(This adds a little extra length to the calculated length.)

Adjusting to your own measurements

Skirt length: Desired measurement in cm (from the widest part of the hips down) × 3 sts (+ length gained from the

weight of the skirt).

Short rows are worked at the center back below the waist to add length down to the hip line. You may omit the short rows if you do not need extra length at the back compared with the center front.

For a shorter waist-to-hip depth overall, work fewer of the final rounds before the short rows. However, the short-row stitch counts will then differ from those in the pattern.

The elastic casing measures 6.3 cm in width.

 Gauge: 30 sts × 40 rows in stockinette stitch on US 2½ (3 mm) needles = 10 × 10 cm

Suggested needles:

• Two US 2½ (3 mm) circular needles, at least 100 cm long

• One US 2½ (3 mm) double-pointed needle

• Crochet hooks: 2.5 mm and 4.5 mm

Wide elastic (5 cm wide elastic is recommended because of the weight of the skirt.)

The skirt shown in the video is a size Small, with 7 extra stitches added for length. The model is 175–180 cm tall.
